My name is Lew Blank. I was born in Chicago, in the United States, on July 29, 1999. I grew up in Forest Park, a suburb of Chicago.
I was always a curious kid. A kid who would break some defined norms. I was unafraid to take bold action.
I currently live in Madison, Wisconsin.
I’ve had a lot of passions across my (short) lifespan. I’ve been acting in plays nonstop for the past seven years. I have found a love for film, and have spent lots of effort editing movies for my YouTube channel. I’ve always taken action; as a child growing up in a left-wing family, I’ve worked extensively with social justice coalitions. I’ve always been a protester, most significantly with the work I’ve recently done in Madison’s Black Lives Matter movement.
I have a weird impulse to just do stuff. In 2012, I looked down at my Thanksgiving turkey, thought of the suffering caused by factory farming, and said, “I’m gonna become vegetarian.” In 2015, I watched a variety of films on meat/dairy and the environment, including Cowspiracy, and immediately said, “I’m gonna become vegan.” I go all in on some things.
I am also one of the biggest travel geeks you’ll meet. I’ve had the privilege to travel to Costa Rica (2012) and London (2014). In London, my school marched in the world-famous London New Years Day parade, and I was chosen by my orchestra teacher to be the school mascot (I made a film of the experience). The feeling I got on that day was pretty amazing.
Inside the United States, I’ve travelled to the Rocky Mountains and all around the West (best) and East coasts. My take on travel is simple: take risks and boldly go where no man has gone before.
I also try my best to be a citizen and scholar of the world. Politics, economics, and geography have always made my heart beat, and I love creative writing.
When you look at that, you would start wondering why I didn’t start FascinationHub sooner. It seems like a perfect fit; I’m a fascinated guy, and I want to share it with all of you.
Thank you again for coming to my website and reading my articles.
